SACC 2014: Transform and Roll for San Antonio

Rated R Cocktails is taking it on the road this week as we head to the San Antonio Cocktail Conference. Stick with us all week as we keep you up to date daily on the seminars, events, and personal insanities that arise on our adventure. When we’re not covering the cocktail conference we’ll also be trying to check out San Antonio’s craft cocktail bars and eats. Our Instagram will be a particularly valuable feature for you to follow us on for all manner of silliness involving your two favorite borrachos.

Coming to a town near you, if that town is San Antonio.

Another feature we’re trying out will be daily podcast updates in addition to our regular coverage. Being the fellas we are we must caution you that the humor can cross into the weird and sometimes low brow. But our written coverage will never suffer these problems if your of the type that dislikes such diversions. We’d love your feedback this week to see if a Rated R Cocktails podcast should become a monthly feature.

As we begin the 13 hour journey west we’d like to thank everyone who helped us make this trip. First of all Nico and the San Antonio cocktail committee get our deepest gratitude. We’re glad they thought of the Horror Tiki Hero’s to provide event coverage. We’d also like to thank them for their devotion to children’s charities which this week long party will go to benefit. We’d also like to thank our local USBG chapter as well as Josh Schaff, Steva Casey, Warren Strange, and Becky Nichols for donating to help make this trip possible. If your not part of your local USBG chapter it’s worth considering. Our Birmingham chapter is full of great people, we’re always presented with chances to learn, sample, and network. For bartenders and those involved in the bar industry the USBG is an invaluable resource who benefits all the more from active members. You may know we do our part by contributing to the social media side of our Local Chapter. However I always get back far more than I could ever provide. The USBG is well worth the dues.

Well it’s time for us to make rubber meet the road. Join us all week for updates from one of the hottest conferences in one of the fastest growing cocktail scenes. We know Texas will do it up big for two boys from Alabama. Until Next time…
