The Coral Shores and Tiki Lore

For Drinkwire‘s Tiki roundup we felt it important to ask “What is Tiki?“. To us the answer is simple. It’s a well balanced cocktail that brings sensations of paradise and Aloha. It’s the drink making style that always makes me smile while spreading those smiles to my guests. We expound our humble opinion here.

Also included is out rummy and refreshing Coral Shores cocktail. Something we’ve been tinkering with since March. Lastly we want to thank Jeff Berry, Hurricane Hayward, and everyone else in the Tiki scene past and present. Without all of you I’d never be chasing my dream.

I have everything for that Coral Shores recipe except the 151. You’d think in Los Angeles one could easily find that bottle. Sounds absolutely delicious. I’ve become obsessed with Passion Fruit ever since I made my own syrup a few months ago. I’ll put it in everything now.

I really am surprised that you can’t find Lemon hart 151 out there. Luckily it’s easier for you to get liquor by mail. I’d suggest picking up na bottle on drinkupny.com.

Plus if your in LA you can always go to Tiki Ti, I know I’ve always wanted to visit it someday.

Thanks for the link! Tiki-Ti is great, albeit tiny, but my heart belongs to the Tonga Hut. Definitely worth going to if you’re out in these parts some day.
